Get to somewhere you feel safe. Maybe a quite undisturbed place? Or close your eyes and think about a place where you once felt safe.
Deep breathing exercise: Take 4 deep breaths. Exhale more than you inhale.
Mindfulness: Close your eyes and observe your mind. It's okay if you have many thoughts. Just be there as an observer of the thought without engaging in a conversation or interpreting the meaning of it. Let things just be as they are while you allow yourself to also be as you are. Be here for about 3 minutes.
Open your eyes and be here now. Bring your mind to the here and now.
Grounding exercise: fine-tune your hearing ability, close your eyes, and listen and list the sound you hear in your mind.
Look around and see the things around you; name the things you see.
